    Hi All,

I am long time lurker on the forum, but my first post!

I have recently started playing online playing cash games regularly and set up a new account, trying to turn a profit as opposed to messing around with sit ‘n’ go’s.

I started off playing with $600 and now have turned that into $1400 after 1 month and 7500 hands playing $50 NL (6 Player tables). I have installed PT and recently PAHUD my stats are 31/14/2 which is probably open to a lot of improvement. Would anyone have any advice as to other stats which I should be concentrating on to improve my game, etc.

When would you guys think I should consider moving to $100 NL or should I be happy to consolidate at this level for the foreseeable. How much of a change in opponent’s skill levels should I expect to see as I move up levels?

I am currently using Titan on i-poker and am working away on my sign-up bonus, is there other sites I should consider which may be more beneficial in terms of sign-up/loyalty bonuses.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

7500 hands really isnt all that much to be honest, a lot of your profit could come down to just running good.

I reccommend playing another 2.5k hands then post screens of your pokertracker, so it shows everything, positional play all that sort of thing.

From your initial stats, 31/14/2, it seems that you limp to much with marginal holdings.

But congrats, the vast majority of people who start playing cash online for the first time fail miserably. You seem to be on the right road anyway. Start posting hands in the hh/theory forum and keep plugging away and you will continue to better your game.

Also with regards to your question on when to move up to 100nl, check out this for bankroll management http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055094108

As for your bonus, there are three decent bonuses on ipoker at the moment.
    They are;

Titan, 100% up to $200, (bonus of $200), 20 points per $1 (through bonus whores)
Green Joker, 100% up to $500, (bonus of $500), 60 points per $1
VC Poker, 200% up to $300 (bonus of $600), 60 points per $1

There is also a decent reload bonus on titan, it equals about 75% rakeback for a low limit player

grind 30 buyins for 50/1 before moving up. Congrats on winning start and keep it up.

Do you really think 30 buyins are neccessary? I was thinking 20 and If you drop 7 buyins move back down.

I'd move back down a lot sooner then 7, 5 at most.

Thanks guys for your advice and taking your time to post me links that are very useful.

I was wondering about table selection and possible players to target, I have picked out a few players from my PT stacks to try and target. I was wondering in general about players who come to the table shortstacked what is the reason that they do this, are they to be targeted as they generally tend to play aggressively and want to double up so tend to get their chips in play. What position would you recommend sitting in regards to players you are trying to target?

As RS mentioned get eye poker... for tale selection it is invaluable...

As regards shortstackers.... I really really hate these idiots...

But generally you can divide them into two categories the good shortatacker and the dreadfull ones... By good (IMOP there is no such think as a good ss) I mean they wait for a hand and shove preflop normally over a raise so your nearly committed to the hand.... I rarely pay these guys off but I see regs do it all the time... they raise with A9 or something and ss pushes and they call because it's only 20bb's...... this is not profitable as "good" shorties range crushes him here..... also I dont call these guys with small pairs as at best were racing..

On the other hand the bad shorties are always value... you'll notmally regognise these by their limp/call tactics... they limp in and call and CRAI with any part of the flop... In general I like raising these guys but c-betting is not recommended without a hand as you'll end up pot stuck and have to call with your overcards or something vs bottom pair.....

just figure out which type they are and dont worry about them too much

Yeah I find SS's very easy to play. Usually have vpips in the 70s. Usually stack them as they limp, you raise to 5x with tens, they call. Flop comes 874r, check, c-bet, they raise all in you call and laugh at their 10-7 off suit.

yeah this is the second type/standard shortie... people get annoyed when they double them up with thier AK.... ss limps reg raises with AKs flop 8 6 2 ss checks reg c bets and shortie shoves and reg committed then calls and is annoyed to see shorties 10/6o which stays good.....

these are the standard shorties and are dreadfull and if you play them like slash/ed mentioned they are free money but dont commit yourself without a hand....

Yeah I would rarely c-bet with AK there. They'll check it down if you're ahead so there's no real need to fire a bullet there.

30 to feel comfortable playing and not having to drop down a level because you drop 6 or 7 buyins. Id go as far as to having 40 buyins, a losing week can easy be 15 buyins. (at 1/2 anyway).
