Havent a clue about these but hopefully somebody can help me before I part with my hard earned earned cash:

Have a wireless router installed for broadband, but it is security enabled ie other pcs have to have the code before they can connect. Will i be able to use the belkin wifi phone on this or will security have to be switched off on broadband.

    Hope that makes sense

What do you mean by a security code? Is it a WEP or WPA key? If yes, check that the belkin device supports WEP or WPA as appropriate before buying. If it is something else - like a webpage that comes up every time you try and connect (as in some hotel rooms with wifi) which requires you to enter some code - I can't see how this code can be entered into the average cheapo skype phone. The only possible exception perhaps being a phone that offers internet surfing and Skype support.

I'm using a fairly old version of the Belkin phone with WPA2 AES so no problems there.

This is one of the great limitations of this kind of device. Pretty much any public hotspot you come across will use some kind of web interface for access control. So it's not the best if you want to use it when you're out and about. It's fine if you only plan to use it at home, work or college etc. though.
