seeing as the big one is just upon us,i am going to do a little bet or 2.
i predicted the winner last year i got barney at 9/2 from the start, but i see no betting value in him or taylor this year.

so i,m thinking along the lines of terry jenkins 12/1, adrian lewis 18/1, james wade 5/1.

Forget Lewis anyways. In my opinion, doesn't have the temperament to be a world champion at the moment. Seems to come up short when the pressure is really on. Wade is a lot more clinical all round player.
Van Gerwen could be a good each way bet at 50/1 if he can continue his good run over Taylor. I think some bookies pay out each way for semi-final places.
If I was having any bet it'd be on Gary Anderson to win the BDO. He's 7/4 but when you consider Taylor is priced around the same to win the PDC it looks like decent value. He's different class to the rest at the moment.

Not really a fan of betting on the outright before a dart is thrown, usually wait to see who is playing well and go from there. The money that is down would suggest Taylor is the good thing, now this World Championship can go three ways; first way is exactly like last year, Taylor vs Barney final, the other two are either or both of them being knocked out early enough.

If i was forced into a bet i would go with Terry Jenkins, he looks to have got the best draw of the top 4 seeds. He could get to the semi's with out much effort, and looks a good trading opportunity as he's currently 17.5 on BF, if he was to make the semi's you could get out at a nice price, although if everything goes by seedings he will play Taylor, which may end up with an over-inflated lay price.

Either way not much value on the top players. Better Value bets could be:
Wade @ 6/1 but that is too skinny for me.
Being a Lewis fan the 16/1 looks nice, but i get the feeling that Lewis is only capable of 1 proper performance per tournament which at this level wont win you a World Championship unless its the Final :p.
Van Gerwen @ 50/1 could be a nice little bet if you think he has a chance of getting past Taylor.
John Part @ 40/1 is the only other player who could feasibly give you a run for your money.

The only bit of potential value pre-tournament; could be in the quarter betting:
Taylor is 4/9 which is about right. (King, Scholten and Van Gerwen are next 3 in the betting)
Terry Jenkins is 15/8 with Stan James, which to me looks one of the best bets of the tournament. (Lloyd, Osbourne and Manley are next 3 in the betting)
Barney is 4/5 (StanJames) best price for his quarter, but it looks the hardest of the four to get through (Lewis, Painter, Priestley, Klaasen and Mason are next in the betting) and i wouldn't be confident at odds-on. Priestley could go well @ 18/1 for this quarter, but if you fancy a bit of dutching, Barney and Lewis can give you 20 pound per hundred.
Wade is 11/10 (Blue Sq) best price for the bottom quarter, he looks almost certain to get through to QF, where he would play (on paper) Part (5/1 SJ) or Hamilton (5/1 SJ) for the Semi final place. Again I'd have to see how Part/Hamilton played prior to their meeting, but i would take a chance on Part as he has won this event before.

In conclusion, my first bet will be Terry Jenkins to win his Quarter @ 15/8. Then for an interest Taylor, Jenkins, Lewis and Wade all to win their Quarters of the draw which is around 31/1 or returns 161.90 for a fiver (with Stan James).

Stan James have cut Jenkins into 6/4 to win his quarter, while Boyles have come into the market, and are now offering the 15/8.
The Accum also works out better with Boyles, around 39/1 or 201.25.

I have made out a little spreadsheet for the draw (including my predictions) if anyone wants to copy it or use it to see how your fancy may pan out.

There is some good value on some of the outsiders but tbh I don't think they have the game to win the tournament other than John Part or Mervyn King. I find it hard to look past Taylor, Barney or Wade with Jenkins there as well.

I never really bet on outright tournament winners because so much can happen, I tend to stick to match betting where you can get some good value on amount of 180's scored etc.
