Regrets: what you want to do brfore you're old/boring?

Even though I'm young, I seem to be having a sort of 'young life crisis.' I'm terrified of waking up in a few years, with a steady 9-5 job, married and filled with regrets about not having done/tried everything I wanted to/said I'd do.
    For example
-never having gone travelling for a year/moved away for a year.

-Never having tried to sit down and write the novel thats been in the back of my head for years.

-Never having figured out what I really want to do i.e. gone for the immediate safe job with the paycheck rather than trying to follow my passions.

-Never having learned to play the guitar properly etc.

So what do you all want to do before your old and boring*?

    Any regrets?

*Not that the two are synonomous

My life has been rather wonderful and I can safely say my only unfulfilled ambition is to moderate the Star Wars board.

If you have a regret, face it, and fix it. You can do this with almost every regret. It's that simple. It's the way I live my life and it works fine for me.

Fix the world or die trying is always a good one

but i dont understand? what age is old? and what do you mean by boring? if you become boring its your own fault because of the wrong choices you have made.

pick up bass again, go back to college, volunteer again on a more permanant basis, swim with sharks... wait... that one is first. and i'd love so much to be able to get on the housing ladder. stuck in teh rent trap at teh mo, and, given my intent to keep working jobs i love, im, unfortunately not generally at the top of the salary scale either

though, i had a client once (RIP), who, in the last year or so of his life, happened to read a newspaper article on teh things most people wanted to do before they die, i think twas the top 100, and number one was swimming with dolphins, which he did before he died, in the last year of his life. it's rarely to never too late for most things, i reckon.

To sound incredibly pretentious old would be more a state of mind than an actual age. :)Boring is pretty self-explanatory I thought, but, imo, trapped in the mundane day-to-day living without any excitement or possibility for change. I know someones going to say theres always possiblity for change, which there is, but more in the sense of not having your future mapped out for you.

The Mastermind thread. Biggest regret of Pigheads life by far.

Started a thread almost 2 years ago to this very day which was probably the rubbishest thread boards has ever seen. 3 replies was all it could manage and if Pigheads being honest that was probably 3 too many.

There was so much wrong with the thread its hard to know where to begin. It was definitely way too long for a start and there was no flow to the whole thing either. It was a carwreck of a thread pure and simple. Have asked the admins to delete it from their records but the fcukers won't. Hopefully future Pighead Jr's will never ever come across it.

This is known as the Quarter-Life Crisis ;)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarter-life_crisis

    I want to:
    - Live abroad for an extended period. Not "travelling" as in e.g. a whistlestop tour of Asia for 3-6 months. I want an extended experience of living in any one place outside of Ireland or Europe.
    - Always work at something that I am genuinely interested in, not just work for the sake of working.
    - Always keep learning new skills/hobbies and putting them into practice. My biggest regret would be to end up spending my life watching TV/drinking/sitting around getting stoned/generally doing unproductive things.
    - Quit smoking and get fit!

Not the fcuking roll eyes smiley. Ballerina what are you playing at babes. With a username like Ballerina your words should be graceful and light and a joy to behold. Instead their awkward and clunky and heavy as lead. Maybe you should change your username to "Barndancer"

I am a Lone Parent. I also got a good education, work very hard, sponge of the government as best I can, and work for the same crowd. I also have to pay creche fees each week that leave me broke, can't afford to rent our own place so also have to sponge off/live with parents, have to feed, clothe and entertain daughter and have to book & PAY for babysitters if I ever want to go out socialising which is rarely because I can't afford to and I feel so guilty leaving my child in Childcare while I'm away working in order to pay the creche.

I do believe the grass in always greener on the other side - don't you!

Oh yeah, and the ones who truly sponge (as you call it) and dont work at all, the ones who choose to be full-time mothers (more power to them), they have so little money they have no choice but to live in council/corpo flats/estates for the rest of their lives as they couldn't possibly afford a mortgage/rent. Would you choose to live there and raise your family in a corporation estate simply because it's cheaper, or would you want your own place that you've worked hard for. Alot of these "spongers" have a tougher life than you or I, of that you can be sure!!

(I know there are the liars and cheats who don't deserve help from Social Welfare but I'm only defending the genuine cases)

Oh darn it! I was thinking more along the lines of immediate payment in order to get me "used" to the idea of letting you impregnate me and then follow-on payments to get me psychologicallllllly through the nine months of carrying your child. And of course a lump-sum on healthy arrival! After that, there you go, he/she is all yours and don't come kocking on my door for maintenance - you're on your own :p

There's a few things i want to do and not do.

Pay off my debts - will take a couple of years
Design and build my own guitar - will happen hopefully next year
Write, record and independently release my own album - have my whole life to do this
Take up Muay Thai/Kickboxing seriously - I'll be starting this in January
    Travel the world more
I want to live in New York for a period of time, i love this city!
When all this is done i want to own and run my own business.

Things i don't want to do?

    Stupidly get someone pregnant.
