There's loads more. Generally people tend to be wary about using laptopsdirect after their conduct on this site among other things but then again some people have been lucky. The gave me the runaround last week regarding an Asus Eee PC, and I promptly cancelled my order which was painful to say the least. Never using them again and advising my friends not to if they can.

Hi, has anyone used Laptops Direct?

    How reliable are they?

I'm interested in this HP laptop:

It looks like a decent deal - can I get other opinions?

    Thanks

I bought the Sony Vaio AR51E from them a couple of weeks ago. Had no problems. Saved myself nearly €400 based on the price in the high street here.

Ordered on a Sunday, arrived on the following Thursday.

Order from the web, as they charge a credit card surcharge of 1.5% over the phone but only 0.95% on web.

Delivery is about £30-£40, but is fully insured, and you get 7 or 10 days free tech support from them which aint bad.

All in all I'm very happy, and would buy from them again.

Stay away from HP - the build quality is terrible and their laptops have alot of
    reliability problems.

    <Rant!

AVOID LAPTOPSDIRECT LIKE THE PLAGUE, just like BanzaiBK I was given the runaround for a week and half about an asus eee, "oh yes mr meaney it'll be in tomorrow, our suppliers have just told us", "mr meaney I can guarantee you it will be dispatched before Friday". Further to this, they charged my credit card the day after I placed the order, contrary to the directive on their website that states clearly that they will not take payment until the day before the order is dispatched. When questioned the rep told me "oh we thought it would be in Monday". Nah-uh, Wrong sh1tface, since when does speculated delivery date equal confirmed dispatch date.?
Whats more enraging is their sheer disregard for any kind of customer satisfaction. They will lie and lie just to get you off the phone.

I ended up cancelling the order in the end and they didnt give a sh1te, were just like "have a nice day!". Wan|<3rs!!
