Cricket Schools Competitions

    Just wondering, is there any Cricket equivalent to the Rugby Senior/Junior Cups that are in the 4 provinces? There are a fair few schools in Dublin with their own teams and I was wondering if there has a been a regular competition or is it purely club based?

    There's a thriving schools scene in Leinster definitely, and AFAIK the other provinces have their schools sections and are doing well.

    Leinster has 2 leagues at senior (around under-17), a junior league (around under-15), under-13 leagues and cups, along with similar competitions for girls. Recently CUS and Belvedere have been battling it out for senior honours, with a lot of the top under-age players playing in their schools also.

    Good to hear. Its a shame it doesnt get much coverage. Schools games are generally very competitive in all sports

    One of the kids in our team plays for the Munster squad. The have the inter-pro's around August I think.
