2.5" Laptop HDD Dead

    Guys,
I suspect that a laptop hard drive I have here has not a power surge (most lightly) or a drop and now after coping 5% of the data off the disk the disk has fully failed (not spinning, not detected).

I've removed the drive and using the 2.5 to 3.5inch IDE converter connected it no a known good power supply and it's still dead as a door nail.

If, as i suspect, the drive did get a power surge or a power connector was connected incorrectly how.....repairable is the drive? Is there just a fuse inside that could be replaced or tested?

    Thanks,
    Joe

I don't know much about this but I'd say if it has had a power surge it's fried and beyond repair. You'll most liekly have to get a new hard drive, Joe.
