    Hi,
    Newbie question....
I got my hands on a Hitec Focus 6 channel 72Mhz radio & receiver purchased in the USA.
Can I get it to work at 35Mhz simply by swopping the 72Mhz crystals for 35Mhz ones?

    Thanks

Nope. That would only change it from one channel of 72FM to another channel of 72FM.
If you don't plan to fly in the US, throw it in the bin with the receiver and xtals.
Keep the aerial and battery as spares.
US Mains charger is 110V - no good either.

Servos, receiver battery and switch will be OK.

I would have thought a 35mhz cystal would not work in a 72mhz radio ??

Sell the radio on ebay to the US if you can. You will get some of your money back that way.

Absolutely ... I meant a changed 72FM xtal in the 72FM transmitter of course. :) The 35FM xtal would reduce transmission to a weak splatter across many frequencies .... not good!

Anyone know of a shop (Dublin preferably) that could sort me out on a similar problem?
Or is it a piece of cake to do yourself (I'm an absolute newbie and recieved plane from US as a XMas pressie) http://www.nesail.com/detail.php?productID=5333
