Gig on saturday for anyone into music shots

    Over the past while there have been one or two posts by people looking to know about gig photogrpahy and stuff. Well there's a gig on this saturday in the Voodoo lounge. The lights are pretty good there, compared to similar venues in town (Dorans, the Hub spring to mind), and also the band are really good, put on a good show and look great in photos. Their called Silverview by the way. I'm going to be down there with another guy (if he comes that is) so just thought I'd let anyone who's interested know. Here's a shot I did there of the singer when he was in an older band, just so you get an idea.

    And don't forget those trusty 50mm 1.8's.

    I wouldn't mind going, but I'd much rather get pissed at the Boards Beers, in the Mercantile the same night... Come over after you're done shooting the gig though, and see your favourite photography mod pissed :D

    FWIW though, I wouldn't fancy more than 2/3 photog's in Voodoo!!!

    Shot a gig with 6 of us there once... Was stupid looking!

    I'll be in there on the 29th for The Klingonz (now THERE'S a show!). Its closing down after christmas :( Was my spiritual home...

    Agreed though - not much room in there with nifty fifties!

    The Voodoo lounge is lcosing? Jesus. Just heard about naother gig on the 27th in the Vaults, performance 2007. 100 bands over the whole day, 4 stages including a comedy one, 10 quid, could make for good shots. Anyone know what the lighting is like in the vaults?

    Feic, didn't know it was closing either!

    Heard about that other gig. Few bands I know are playing there.

    Yeah I'm thinking of playign around with some slow shutter stuff with one of the guitarists in particular, I'l let ya know.
