American DS Lite in Ireland

Hi folks, Did a quick search around but can't find any info on this... (Apologies if its been posted before) Buddy of mine in the US and minute and asked him to get me 2 DS Lite's because didn't want to go through the hassle of looking for them over here. Guy in shop tells him they won't work in Europe because of "wattage"…

Hi folks,
Did a quick search around but can't find any info on this... (Apologies if its been posted before)

Buddy of mine in the US and minute and asked him to get me 2 DS Lite's because didn't want to go through the hassle of looking for them over here. Guy in shop tells him they won't work in Europe because of "wattage"

Anyone got experience of this or better still anyone got an american DS lite over here that works??

The games will work over here,
The charger wont. You'll have to get European chargers for both of the DS's.

You can get a 220/240 charger at Smyths for €15. As already mentioned the US handheld will work off of an EU charger without any problems.

ye it will work over here. u just need an adaptor for the charger. the games work aswell.

It will work you just need to by a UK charger which u can get in game
I got a game boy advance in the USA a few years ago and it was fine - just got a recharger in game and it charged fine - the american charger is handy to have also for travelling back stateside with it.
Games will work in it also - I used games from all over the world in my DS Lite and they all worked so assume it is same other way around.
