    Hi,

Can anyone recommend Genealogy / Family Tree software. A few years ago I bought Ultimate Family Tree but it is quite limited and the version I have doesn't run on XP.
    Suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks,
    AMacG

I use one at home - as far as I can remember it is called
'Family Tree Maker' (I will double check). Good for the
record keeping side of things and the reports are
good - but the web page creation feature is minimal.

I prefer to carry out the web search functions by
browser - as the interface for this is not great.

    Gramps is good.

    PhpGedView is what I use.

I can simply send my relatives a password-protected link to my site with all the info on it.

Can even add in pictures and other info. The layout and design is brilliant.

I use Legacy 7 Standard Version which is free, there is a paid version.
You also get Legacy Charting with this.
I have over 4,000 persons on my tree.
You can make up several trees, all having different names in one version.
I find this program very good.
