    Master of the Universe

Ah yes, I have similar problems trying to find games for my own girlfriend. No matter how many times you try to get her to play Zelda;phantom hourglass and other pieces of sheer genius, games like Sprung; The Dating game win out in the end.

Okay I'm being a bit unfair...

She mainly plays anything that involves the touch screen..and pretty much beats my ass at two player in them. :(

    Warioware,
    Trauma Centre,
    Cooking Mama 1 &2
Kirby Canvas Curse (Okay she wasn't too into that one, but she should be...it's great!)..All the mini games in New Super Mario Bros and Mario 64

Rhythm and beat based games like
    Elite Beat Agents,
    Ontamarama,
    Taiko no Tatsujin

    And then there are the Puzzle games such as;
    Puzzle Bobble,
    Tetris DS,
    Super collapse 3D,
    Prism Light the Way,
    All those Brain training things..

There's a Sims game. Girls love the Sims. I think it's the illusion of being in control.......

    Diner Dash.
Awesome game - addictive as hell.

My wife is also addicted to Zelda and Animal Crossing.

Now if only she would play some multiplayer Mario Kart...

My girlfriend loves Braintraining and New Super Mario Brothers.
I think New Super Mario Brothers was the first game she finished

    Girls are people too.

Get her Zelda and Elite Beat Agents. Both are great games. Maybe Brain Training or Nintendogs too, they seem to be mandatory, and nearly everyone seems to like (or at least use) them.

Her Mam is getting her the DS + Brain Training so I know she'll be boxed off in that department!

I kinda liked Trauma Centre so id be prob buying it for the two of us :o

Whats Elite Beat Agents? Is that a quirky jap dancing thing? Doubt she'd be into that, I better break her in easy as she never had a games machine before!!!

Super Mario is always a winner, her bro has a snes wit SMW so that may make things easier to play it...

    :)

I'd say Brain training, Animal Crossing, Nintendogs, Zelda...

Really can't go wrong with any of them.

I'll... lie you! Wait that doesn't make sense.

Fieldog, Elite Beat Agents is the American version of the Japanese rhythm game Ouendan. It has an easy setting so shouldn't be too hard, it's definitely fun and has Western music in it that she'd know (Madonna, Avril Lavigne, Jamiroquai etc) instead of Japanese songs. And if she's insane and doesn't like it, you probably will.

Elite beat agents... That's a game that I've always meant to pick up but never got round to getting...

if anyone offered a game to my gf because it was one that "girls could play" they'd get a punch lol.

I'd suggest New Super Mario Brothers. A nice learning curve if she hasn't played Mario before. I'd also suggest Zelda:Phantom Hourglass. If she has no gaming experince, then Brain Training or Elite Beat Agents are great choices.

My wifey plays 42 All Time Classics every single night in bed....seriously....

Kinda strange thinking about the old cliche picture of wife and hubby in bed at night in the fifties reading books....it's the same now except she plays her DS, I play mine...

Get yourself a 3V card. It may cost an extra 5 stingers but if you get a maximum value 3V receipt you will save a hell of a lot more buying on line. Should be available in most shops like spar. Just apply online.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

I have one but stopped using it, heard that ebay wasn't accepting the 3v card numbers anymore or something like that... ?

you can lodge money into a paypal account using 3v vouchers and then use the paypal to buy stuff off ebay

They're selling Elite Beat for 30 euro in Smyths but you can also get it in their 2 for 50 euro deal.

My one also likes Diner Dash, for some reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,399 ✭✭✭WetDaddy

OP, I think the bottom line of the responses on this thread is that every person likes different types of games... "Even girls" ;)

Maybe if you gave us some more info on her, i.e. does she play games often / is she new to games, do you reckon she'd be keen to sit down and play for long stints, or will it just be a quick pick up and play here and there, etc.

They had 'Brain Training', 'More Brain Training', 'Sight Training' and a couple of others in the deal. I didn't really pay too much attention, it was only 'Elite Beat' and 'Brain Training' that interested me.

Another vote for Elite Beat Agents.
I didn't like it anywhere near as much as the Jap original (Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!), but still got lots of enjoyment out of it and a good few genuine "lol" moments.

I love the Spryro games as the dragon is really cute but it is quite hard.
