    Took this shot in St Stephens Green a while back. I love his eye :D

    Any tips on what I could do with the background to make the pigeon stand out more?

    I think the first one is grand, no need for the brown background.
    Maybe you could burn it out a bit or add a vignette.

    cool, very detailed, i have a lot of similaar pics of the pigeons in stephens green, maybe if you ant to do something with the background you could try blurring it a little?

    That goose's eye is beautiful. I love the contrast between the orange and blue!

    I think the first one is growing on me now too... I think it's enough of a contrast in colour..

    first one is best imho, I've used desaturation before to emphasis the main subject, not black and white, just maybe -3 to -8 depends on picture. Try it and see, nice and easy to do :)
