Renew SL books (library) ...?

    Hey folks,

    It doesn't seem to be possible to renew short loan books online...... This saddens me greatly.

    Is it possible to ring up the library and renew the books over the phone? Any other way to do it?

    I do no want to drive out to UCD just to renew 2 books.

    You can't really renew short loan books at all - they have to be returned and put back through the system and onto the shelf before you can take them out again. Sorry!

    If you go to the self-return kiosks, you can return them yourself and check them back out immediately. It's kind of a dick move to anyone possibly waiting for them, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...

    If they're waiting for them they can put in a reserve. Although problems arise when supposedly there's copies on the shelves, so no reserves allowed, yet those copies haven't been seen in months.

    You can't reserve books form the Short Loan collection.
    If there's a book missing, report it so that they can take it off the system as available.
