Hi all, i got great help the last time here regarding AVG, but im wondering how long should a scan take to scan?
At the moment it takes between 1-2hrs!

When starting should i scan the C: drive or just My Documents?

As im thinking you only do a complete scan once a month?

    Thanks for any help received.

That sounds normal....it depends on the speed of your pc and how much data on your hard drive......

1-2 hours would seem about right, you can cancel or change the start time of the scans through the control centre icon in the bottom right of the screen by double clicking on the AVG icon.
I'd say your safe enough just scanning your "Documents & Settings" Folder and the main "Windows" folders on your C: drive as these two places are where most virus's reside.
Also (for the 3rd time today) downloads and install CCleaner (which deltes temp files and clutter on your pc) and give it a run once a week to to enmpty out any un-needed files, which should speed up your virus scans too!

Still got a lot on the hard drive, but it reminds me of some stuff to delete during every scan

Would you scan all the "Windows" folders or just some?

Heh! i've heard a lot about it & found out this when i checked up on it on answers.com
CCleaner (formerly Crap Cleaner) is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool.
It removes unused and temporary files from your system

    Thanks for the info.

I scan my entire C: drive just in case, I start the scan when I'm going out or when I know my PC won't be in use for some time so the time it takes doesn't matter to me.
