Can anyone suggest some good sites based on experience for buying a laptop online. Ive had a look at laptopdirect.ie and they seem to have a good selection. Any suggestions appreciated, Thanks. (Im not pushed if I get it before xmas or not)

elara - Have a massive range of products and have decent prices. They have a really good search feature that lets you search by different thing like screen size, amount of ram, processor, hard drive and a couple of others I think.

Dabs - I've never used them but they seem good.
komplett - Pretty small range last time I checked but a lot of boardsies swear by komplett.
    dell
dell outlet - Sells refurbished dell computers. You can really find some bargains on there, although there are also some rip-offs in there too. They also have an ebay store but I can't find a link.

I'm sure there are plenty others.

Have a read over some previous threads and you will get plenty of suggestions. Also try the search function for more specific topics, such as online retailers.

Elara is a rip off even compared to the likes of PC World....who i would never buy off by the way

It used to be cheaper to buy online but lately Laptops are as cheap or cheaper in retail stores

    From my experience anyway

I've been on the look out for a new laptop recently and have also found that the online prices are the same if not more expensive than buying in store.

For example: Lenovo U410 is €629 on pc world http://www.pcworld.ie/Product/LENOVO-U410-14andquot-Ultrabookandtrade-Blue/312434/104.1

On laptopsdirect the same laptop is €704 http://www.laptopsdirect.ie/nav/br/lenovo/ml/laptopsnetbooks/screensize/05/type/laptops/0

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-Ideapad-U410-14-inch-Ultrabook/dp/B009RGBKY8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1358191376&sr=8-3
The above link is one of the lower spec U410's. Probably talking bout €600 including shipping

And this link is the higher spec one
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-Ideapad-U410-inch-Ultrabook/dp/B008AVCASQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358191376&sr=8-1
Will work out at about €710/720 including shipping

Tigerdirect.com is a cheap enough site to buy off but the shipping is very high on the likes of laptops and such and it is in the US so will take some time to receive the item

    saveonlaptops.co.uk

I just bought a laptop off them last week and for a pretty good price too! You should give it a look. I've found them to be one of the cheapest and the delivery is good too, mine arrived in 2 days.

If you have Paypal don't use it unless your shipping address is confirmed(on Paypal) because they'll just end up refunding your payment. You can still use credit or debit card
