    Hi all,

This is a long shot but wondered if any of you have heard / seen / read anything about the Hava? I've read a review on Cnet but thats about all I could find. I'm in the market for such a device. The slingbox just dosent cut it with one LAN user at a time and Orb with requiring a net connection even to watch over a LAN, this is the closest a product has come to meeting my needs.

    All opinions welcome.

    Thanks

A friend of mine was looking at getting one earlier this year but he decided to hold off until a few issues were resolved.

If I remember correctly the major issue was that the Hava box couldn't stream over an ethernet connection, you had to use the wireless connection. It couldn't stream to a pc connected to a wireless router, the only scenario in which it worked was that the pc had to have it's own wireless network adapter so it could connect directly to the Hava box wirelessly.

Thats odd. What about bridging, differnt OSI layer so it "should" work.

According to the manual it worked but in actual fact the feature was crippled in the firmware. Hava updated their website to say the feature would be enabled in a future software release - I've just checked and the entry is still there (link).

I dont think I'd go for the wireless version though. I'd be using it over wired connections around the house.

I was thinking the same myself. I wonder if the wired models give trouble being accessed via an AP conected to network?
