advice on lens

    Canon EF 70-200mm 70-200 f/2.8 f2.8 L USM,hi im loooking at buying this lens,will this be any good for dark indoor shots in clubs,gigs ? ? if not could anybody recommend a good lens for that purpose already have 70-300mm f4-5.6 and nifty fifty,also recently acquired speelite 580 ex just wondering is that lens only for outdoor sports or would it be ok in dark indoors conditions ?

    You wouldn't use a flash for outdoor sports.
    Yes, the 70-200mm is the lens you're looking for.

    You're not going to get a faster 200mm lens. Define "dark".

    I question whether it's a practical lens for a club, actually. Isn't that a big heavy lens that you sort of would be advised to have a monopod for?

    The 70-200mm f/2.8 is a great lens, even for indoor shooting. I use it indoors for press conferences and such. Very good in low light situations. It also has very good reach.

    I would use an 85mm f1.8 or a 50mm f1.4. You could buy both and another body for the price of the 70-200 f2.8
