Using skyDSL wirelessly

I am using SkyDSL for internet access and want to set-up a wireless
network so I can access the internet from my laptop. When I am connected to the internet via skyDSL on my desktop I am able to use the skyDSL proxy to access the internet from my laptop (I run a crossover cable between the two and enter the proxy address to "LAN settings" under "Tools-Internet Options-Connections" in IE on the laptop.
I am wondering if I can connect a wireles router to my desktop and configure it to use the skyDSL proxy?
