Dual Display Problem

    Hi!

I have a PC here with an old Matrox Millenium G450 Dual Head Card in it, with two 4:3 monitors stuck to it - one's 17", the other is 20".

The guy who's machine it is wants the two screens as the primary desktop, and this is how it is when you install the card, plug in the monitors, and boot up for the first time.

In order to change the resolution on the screens from the default 800 x 600, I need to tick the 'Extend my Windows Desktop on to this Monitor' in the display settings, and then that gets rid of the two primary desktops.

If I try to change the resolution without extending the desktop, the secondary screen goes blank and I have to uninstall the driver to get it back to the way I started. Is there anyway I can get around this? I'm going to get a new card as this one is too ancient, but he's the boss man so I'm keen reach a temporary solution.. any suggestions??

    Thanks!

Sadly mate Matrox is one of the worst cards I have ever had the misfortune of coming across. It wouldn't suprise me if it was all the card was capable of.
You know for just 30 odd yoyo's you could buy a ATI 64MB Radeon 7000 PCI or an ATI 128MB Radeon 9250 AGP @ €35.00 and solve the problem once and fo all.

Those are prices I just googled without VAT.

Yeah I'll be getting something tomorrow, I was just hoping there might have been someway to fix it temporarily as I was being put on the spot!
