Moved to a new house and the rabbit ears are not picking up anything. Thought it would be easy enought o get sorted with chorus or sky but no I was wrong have had to deal with sheer morons for the last week.
have called choruas 3 times and sat on hold and emailed 3 times. Each time I call they cannot find our details and then tell us they have to wait and see if they can get connection in our area this takes 2 days apparently (we live in a town in a housing estate!)

Sky were worse. they want to take money off us for installation/box etc but will nto give a date for it 'sometime before xmas'. They also refuse to plan a date in advance now considering both myself and my partner work full time and cannot get a day off at an hours notice. Even better when my partner asked if he coul dgeta refernmce number so I could ring and pay they said no - if I want to ring and pay I need to give all our details all over again.

So my question is can anyone recommend a company- chorusa/sky reseller who would install cable tv for us (kildare area), who is not an idiot?
    thanks

sky are actually quite good but remember that trying to get anything like this arranged during the silly season is...well, silly, when you consider what country you're in.

Go to Dixons because they can discount the cost of installation/equipment plus offer extended warranties. If you buy an LCD they'll usually throw the box in for free...

Only Chorus will install cable for you. You could try a local installer for Sky Digital. Perhaps a FTA satellite system?

I will try anything within reasonable price mossy monk. Chorus have made it clear they do not want our business. Even a complaint email I sent yesterday was ignored. They still seem unaware of who we are or if they can ever privide service in our area so I doubt the service is much better once you do get to sign up? Whats an FTA?

Pity I didnt know about dixons - got a flat screen the other day!

FTA is channels available through satellite that cost nothing. These include all the BBC and ITV channels. You should check out the satellite board for further information.

If you go FTA, you'll need a UHF rooftop ariel for the Irish channels.
