Travelling when on Medication?

I was thinking of travelling for a few months. I'm currently taking anti-depressants, usually I would get a 3-month subscription, where I would get a new supply every month. Would I be able to still get a prescription if I was travelling abroad?

It really depends on were your going. Oz for instants would be the same as home were as Cambodia, Vietnam or Chile you probably wouldn't be able to get your medication. Best to go to the manufacturers web site and see were they have a license to sell the drug. I have asthma and found it difficult to find the inhaler I was looking for in Asia including japan but was sorted once i got to Oz/ NZ.

Well if it's a 'western' country the most you'll have to do is get a prescription in that country. ie. Go to the local / medical centre and show the doc your Irish prescription. You'll probably have to answer a few questions but nothing serious.
You should probably get a letter from your own doctor detailing your illness as well. Hope that helps!

Tell your doctor and your chemist.. you should have no problem getting a full supply before you go. The only potential problems: 1. The drug refund scheme may not pay it all; 2. What happens if you loose your drugs whilst travelling.
My local chemist will post (yes it is legal !) medication to me when I am away for long periods, but I do have a permanent address to received the package at.
