    RTE Website: http://www.rte.ie/sport/boxing/2007/1210/hatton.html

I think Hatton would be off his head to take this fight........Mayweather looked a lot bigger than him and De La Hoya is prob a half a head taller than Mayweather. De La Hoya is a full blown Light Middle weight.........hatton is a Light welter.

Agree totally and at first I thought that if the fight was at 147, then Hatton would be a winner.
Now I believe the fight is of no real merit to either and that if it happened at 147, then Oscar would be too strong and tough and everything else. Hatton being beat so convincingly means that the fight can have no MERIT. But PRO boxing is all about money and if Oscar and Hatton
think it will sell big, I am sure it will go ahead...I certainly wouldn't be all that interested
in watching it and I will definitely not be paying for it or staying up until the early hrs.....

Obviously at 140lbs then Hatton has a great chance, but he must be completely
focused and after his los to PBF, it will take a lot out of him mentally.
I cannot make him a firm favorite against any top fighter now, even at 140lbs...
If Witter is up for it and can handle the pace, he could very well out box Ricky..

Whatever about size and weight, if hatton takes this fight and loses his confidence could take a serious blow

ODLH is a shrewd money man, he see's the legion of fans Hatton has based in Britain, he knows if Golden Boy promotions can pull this off in Hattons back yard he's in for a massive pay day, and he'll beat Hatton so its win win win For Oscar.

we'll see how much of an influence Billy Graham is on Hatton now. i suspect money is not a primary motivating factor at this stage for him so i think he will drop back down to junior welterweight as he will be desperate to get a win. he would be wise to take a warm up fight to boost his confidence before thinking about facing Witter.
I think Hatton will beat Witter. It's foolish to write him off just because he was totally outclassed by Mayweather who proved he is one of the best boxers there has ever been in the sport.

To be honest I think this fight is a ridiculous idea from hatton's point of view.
PBF is not a big welterweight and he made hatton look quite small and dumpy. Collazo who is a full blown welterweight made him look tiny, Imagine how big DLH will look compared to him.
Hattons worst performances have come at welterweight for a combination of he himself carrying too much weight and his opponents being bigger and stronger than him.
At 140 he has always fought better. To be honest he is not even a big light welter, many guys his size fight at light-weight.

i think witter knocks him out earlier than mayweather just cause i feel he's bigger one punch knock out than floyd and i always thought hatton would suit witter down to a T, also i think witter would be right up for it which he has to be for a fighter like him.

I can't believe you think witter knocks him out, witter had one good performance in his last fight.Hatton just moved up a weight to fight the best in the world.Outclassed as he was by mayweather at 147 he'll be fighting witter at 140 where he should stay.

At 140 no one can touch him and it will be in the uk remember so he'll be allowed fight his fight.

Do you honestly think witter is better than mayweather please tell me you don't.

Couldnt agree more. Oscar must be having wet dreams about this one.

An easy win (imo) and a huge payday.

Witter hasn't lost in 21 fights and his one loss is to judah (who would probably beat hatton at 147, not sure about 140).

He would not be an easy fight for hatton.

I never said it would be easy but saying that witter would knock hatton out is ridiculous imo.You can't base your judgement on one fight, watch a few of both fighters, witter has improved but if you watch the judah fight he ran even more than mayweather is accused of.

Hatton vs pac-man? that would be interesting but pac would have to jump 2 divisions.

dont really want to see Hatton - De La Hoya, id watch it and all and id say it would be a good fight but im not sure what to make of Hatton at 147,
with collazo he didnt have a lot of time to prepare and maybe "overcooked it" against "money may":p in that he was only 145, he did look really small in there.

id like to see how he would do against a natural welter if he took a few more months to mature into the division.

in any case id rather see him back at 140 cause thats his division
