Well I have a dell xps m1710 120 gd harddrive(even though it says it only has a capacity of 105 ) anyway at the moment i have 14.27 gigs left now lately when I unistall a game it does'nt give me back the ram it took,if that makes sense?

like i got crysis there a few wks back,I unistalled world in conflict which is 8gig or sumthing and before I unistalled it i had about 20gigs on the harddrive and when i checked it again after the game was unistalled i only 24gig or sumthing

same thing happened saturday,i downloaded the universe at war demo and it was only like 1.66 gigs and before i installed it i had 15.44 but after i unistalled it again (cuz it was a crap demo) it was only like 14.36 :s.

I've tryed defraging it but it wont let because my harddrive is at 13% and it has to be at least 15% or so my laptop tells me.

can anybodytell me what the problem is,its really annoying me.

    cheers :)

First off your hard drive is fine! The reported size is correct as the conversion from bytes on the drive to comparitive GB size , a little is lost in the translation.
Hard drives are always roughly 7% smaller than there advertised size in GB's.
I would recommend firstly downloading and installing Crap Cleaner from here
    http://www.filehippo.com/download/file/6fed1e69b1458772ce56e1b6d41b08cb515ee59d59d3563f9067a39aead9118e/
Just when installing it , Don't install the yahoo toolbar.
Once its installed , Right Click on your Recycle bin and "Open CCleaner"
Once its open , Theres an option to "Run CCleaner". This way you will see how much temp files it deletes.
It could remove several gigs of temp files from your hard drive so just see how much it deletes.
Other than that its a case of going through your "Program Files" directory and deleting any left over files/folders that weren't removed when you uninstalled those games.
    Hope this helps!

well I downloaded that cleaner thing, but it did'nt make much of a difference.
I had 14.27gigs and when the cleaner was finished I only had 15.43,it did'nt delete that much :-/

cheers for the reply though :)

Run a checkdisk by right clicking on the drive and selecting properties then tools and check now if that doesn't work then do a defrag and scan disk
