I want to buy a xmas present of tickets for a west end play and hotel accomodation for 2 nights for 2 people for May 2008. Anybody any ideas where would be good hotel to stay in in London?? The play is on in the Apollo Theatre near Victoria station but the hotel doesnt necessarily have to be there. Looking at a price range of about 150 euro per room per night

    Thanks

    Gazzer

    www.travelodge.co.uk
is relatively cheap and cheerful, i stayed in the covent garden one 2 years ago and it was grand, handy for tube and buses. it's one of the more expensive travelodges i think the kings cross one is usually a lot cheaper and there are quite a few other travelodges in london.

Whenever we go to London, we stay at Jurys in Islington. It is 2 minutes walk from Angel Tube Station which is one of the main stations in London and will bring you straight to Kings Cross and all other major tube stops. Islington is also very nice spot in itself.

I second Jurys in Islington but has got more pricey in recent years plus gets booked up quicker. I've stayed in the IBIS , Algate East a few times - right over the tube station so very well located plus brand new so lovely rooms. I usually pay around £80-£90 a night there. Try www.laterooms.com and www.expedia.co.uk for good prices.
