Found a brand new 1970s Teasmaid --

    -- remember them? -- in my mother's attic. Obviously an unwanted Christmas or wedding present. The box had never been opened, and all parts are still in the factory packaging, again unopened! Thinking of purloining it and giving it as an "ironic" retro present to a mate for his forthcoming wedding.

    Anyway, it pleased me, and I wanted to share, and I thought this was the appropriate place...

    Jeez I'd forgotten about these things.......My mum had one but I don't think it was ever used for tea - just alarm.

    My parents used to have one in the 70's it was used for tea for a while but then just as the alarm clock, too much trouble to have get the milk
