Deleted items still there

    Hi folks

I have been cleaning some crap off my pc (running Vista) which included deleting lots of files mp3, mp4 etc. However when I go into "search" and look for the file names they are still there. Problem is I cant open the files. When I hover over the file names it says the file type is Shortcut. When I right click and hit delete, I get a pop up saying that it cannot find the item. It is no longer located in C:\Users\xyz\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent.

Any idea how to get rid of them?

I suspect Vista will reindex your changes and eventually remove the items from the search results.

Reindexing your entire hard drive would fix this but this is very drastic and it's not something you'll want your hard(s) to endure.

    Download and install CCleaner,
it should remove all temp files and recently accessed files from Vista.
