Not sure if this has been posted before, but it's a nice guide to help if you're looking to buy a bag. Has user submitted photos of various bags with carious kit...

Hitting NY later this month. Have a Canon 400d already.

    Picking up the following:

    70-200mm f2.8 + 1.4 extender.
    50mm f1.8
    Battery Grip
    220EX Flash

Want to pick up a bag as well. Any recommendations to suit the above gear?

Good site to give you an idea of how big a bag is etc,
must keep that for when I buy a new bag early next year :)

OnLooker: Try adorama or b&h for a bag while you're getting the lenses. They might be able to work out a deal for you. Also I went into Best Buy last week and picked up a Lowepro bag for the camera and laptop for about €50 altogether.

Was thinking about trying that but didn't think they would have any of it.

    May as well try. :D

I'm on the look out for a new bag at the moment. I need something compact and unassuming that can hold a 15" laptop and a 5D with 24-105 and 70-200 f4. Idealy I'll be adding a few more lenses and a flash to my kit in a while so space for 4 lenses would be best.

Anyone know a decent bag that'll protect my camera and 2 lenses, and fit in your average day pack?

    Har har!

No, but seriously. i've trawled the web looking at reviews and stuff, (and cambags.com!) but what I find is you can't get a feel for how big bags were. I thought a Nova AW 5 would be perfect for my needs but when I saw it in a shop it was massive!!! Don't want to purchase a new full back pack (like a Lowepro Rover AW II) cos the back pack I have is very good one(cost me 90 yoyo) so just want something for my camera and 2 lenses so I can keep it dry and protected on a hilke.

I don't think this exists though so it's the Rover for me :(
