Desktop Screenshot time!

I know that there is a "post your desktop" thread in the computers section but it's full of smelly PC users so I thought that it would be cool to have out own place to shine. If mods feel differently, lock it if you want.

Anyway, I think it would be a cool enough place to share various obscure apps that are floating in your dock or something along with AdiumX themes or wallpapers etc..

BTW, to take a screen shot on mac, hold Command, Shift and 4. The image will then appear on the desktop.

I'll go first with a screeny of my desktop and my browser/ AdiumX screen layout.

The iSpy window is just a window of Firefox. It's a page of Wiffy.ie that is updated constantly and it shows the most recent posts and stuff. It's kinda handy if nothing else....

Here's my work machine.


If, like me, you want to turn off the superannoying unreadable shiny Leopard dock and replace it with something functional as shown here, run the following command in the Terminal:

defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES; killall Dock

Dock apps are (deep breath):
Finder, Firefox, Mail, Skype, Chicken of the VNC, Cyberduck, Terminal, Textedit, Property List Editor, Freemind, Preview, SubEthaEdit, Smultron, Xcode, Interface Builder, Logic Express, Kontakt, Audacity, Ableton Live, Garageband, SimpleSynth, WireTap, iTunes, QuickTime, X11, OpenOffice.org, Console, Activity Monitor, Spin Control, System Preferences, Disk Utility Calculator, Super Sekkrit Project no. 1, Time Machine.

Thanks, i guess i was hoping there was a MAGIC way of putting it here without a website address. Don't ask how i reckoned it would work. I might set up an a/c on flicker for messing. ( i have an iweb .mac site)

I only use Vista for watching live footie match's online, none of the P2P TV programs will work on the mac. Im not sure why I have real player opened there, I actually rarely use it, Quicktime or VLC forever!!!

That's my desktop machine: PowerMac Dual G5 2.0GHz - 3GB RAM - 2x160GB - Apple Cinema Display 23" @ 1600 x 1024. The macserver machine in the screen on the left is a PowerMac Dual G4 500MHz running Tiger Server.

I'd like to be able to say that the desktop wallpaper is a photo of my car . . . but I can't . . . It's an Audio R8 in case you're interested

The icons can be changed using CandyBar 3, I can't remember exactly where I got my ones, but there are loads of them if you just google it, InterfaceLIFT have a good selection.
