Visa application questions?

My gf needs to get a US Visa for travel to the US in late March 2008. It states on this website...

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/wait/tempvisitors_wait_result.php?post=Dublin&x=82&y=14

...that it takes 3 days for an interview appointment and 2 days for the Visa to be processed. This sounds incredibly fast-when I needed a work Visa for India a few months ago, it took ages! Are these figures accurate?

My gf cannot take holidays until January, so shouldn't we wait until then to apply (since she needs to go to Dublin for the day)?

    Thanks?

What type of Visa does she require?
If she enters under the Visa Waiver Program she wont even need a visa.

Shes Polish (so no Visa Waiver), and its only for a 10-day holiday :) I really should have been more specific

She'll have to apply for a tourist visa then. It should be pretty straight-forward if she has'nt overstayed previousely in the US. Make sure she has a return ticket and a letter from her employer/bank statements etc.
Of the 100,000 or soPoles who apply for American tourist visas each year, roughly 30 percent are rejected because consular officers suspect they're going to try to work in the States, adding to the estimated 70,000 already working in the country on expired visas.
    Good Luck.

So if we wait to apply until the new year we should get it before March?

    Thanks for your help!

Sorry to reask the question, but I cannot seem to get a verification anywhere!

If we wait until Jan to apply for the Visa to the US, will we get it in time (departing March 25th)?

    Thanks for the help everyone!
    Tony
