Sat Receiver

I recently bought the sat receiver from Lidl. I'm wondering at what height does the dish need to be?

My house is situated fairly high up on a hill with nothing blocking the house at the rear. Would it be high enough to place the dish under the fascia and soffit at the back of the house? Or do I need to go up the gable?

    Thanks

The dish can be at any height, even on the ground, so long as you have line-of-sight to the satellite.

Check the position of the sun on the horizon at about 9.15am which has the the same azimuth (left/right angle) as the Astra2 satellite. However, the sun is much lower than the satellite i.e. it rests at 3.5 degrees elevation (up/down angle) while the satellite sits above it at 20.5 degrees. You can check if you have line-of-sight using a protractor and a plumb line.

Please forward to all Satellite installers, the following.
The Satellire is 22,000 miles away, another ten feet won't make any difference.
