    hi all,
I saw that they are offering a night vision monocular for 159.99e, I was thinking about getting one for a bit of a laugh and to go looking for the fox/badgers etc at night time. I did a quick search on the name and found this review, the spec's match up
The thing that interests me is the
The standard eyepiece is removable and it can be replaced by a focusing camera (SLR) adapter that is available separately (see recommended accessories).

Bresser price is 299STG, lidl 159e, and the adapter off their site is 30stg.

Do this seem to good to be true ? or has anyone else looked at Night Vision before ?
I realise the quality won't be great, but I think it might be worth a look ? any ideas ?

Interesting toy I'd imagine. Might make a good spotting scope before you dazzle them with an off camera flash!

I was thinking of it more as a toy for scouting out and about after wildlife but then I saw the way you can remove the eyepiece and that got me taking it more seriously

Most sony handycams have "nightshot" where they use the infrared light to take videos/photos.

I saw the scope too - seems like a fixed 50mm prime ;)

edit: wonder what aperture is it? and what ISO would you shoot it with?

I picked up one of these yesterday. It certainly works very well.

I had a problem with fogging film in a Mamiya Press or Mamiya Super 23 body, but since I have several of these bodies, I couldn't find out which one was the problem one.

I put some super bright LED lamps inside a body then fitted the lens and back. Took the internally illuminated body into a dark room, and used the night-vision jobby to show up the leaks.

Amazingly, it worked. I found two leaks in one body, and sealed them with foam, and black insulating tape. Doesn't look pretty, but it works.

I'm going to do the same with my Portable Darkroom thing, to make sure it is light tight.

Saved me money on repairs and more wasted film.

BTW, I see that aki-asahi.com do repair kits for light seals on cameras

The night vision is obviously not working here

Sony nerfed the infrared on their handycams. In the earlier versions you could see quite easily through people's clothes, which always got a start when we demonstrated it at work. :D
