Playing old Lucas Arts games using ScummVM DS

Hey guys. New to the whole DS scene. Just got my DS Lite the other day, and I loves it like a child! Anyway, I was looking into the whole emulation, homebrew and what have ya scene, as this is an ingenious way of extending the life of a console exponentially.
As some of the older gamers of you (and by older, I mean 25+!) may remember, LucasArts had a superb catalogue of point and click games in the early ninties. Games like Day of The Tentacle, The Secret of Monkey Island, Sam & Max Hit The Road and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis kept old gamers like me entertained for hours with their flat 2-D graphics and limited soundtracks!
Anyway, I've seen that there is a way to play these games on the DS again using the ScummVM emulator for the DS. I was wondering if anyone has looked into this and has gotten it working. Through this forum I found VolumeRate and am awaiting delivery of my R4 card dealio. I'd greatly appreciate any help!

    Thanks!

I tried playing LOOM on my g6lite before. It's not worth the hassle. The screen's just too small so you get either the entire screen so it's impossible to see anything because it's too small or you can zoom in so that you have to keep scrolling left, right , up and down witch is probably worse. The controls are annoying too.

It's a shame because those adventure games are my absolute favourite games ever and I'd love to be able to play them on my ds. Broken Sword and Monkey Island were the first games I ever finished properly and ever since then I've been going back playing all the others too (The dig, sam and max, full throttle etc).

On the other hand if you're still after portable point and click, the PSP port of SCUMM is 10X better than the ds one, the only area the ds one is better is the use of the stylus instead of the analogue stick.

I played through Fate of Atlantis on my ds using R4. As Jesus said, it's a little awkward, you have to scroll and you'll have to memorise the controls. I didn't mind that though. If you really want to play them, you'll live with it.

Dunno about on the DS, but I have PocketSCUMM on my PDA phone, and play both Monkey Island 1 and 2 on it, and do not have any difficulty seeing what's on the screen, didn't think that you'd have that problem on the DS either, as the screen is about the same size methinks... ?

Don't listen to the above Petey,

I played through Monkey Island 1 and 2 last month on my R4,

Everything worked fine, it fits the screen fine.

Was amazing playing through these classics again on the go,

The stylus works really well for them too.

ScummDS works fantastic, and is easily on of the best reasons to get an R4.

Why is it all R4 on this forum?
I have the M3 Ds simply and it works like a charm.
Consider that alternative. I have 3 1GB micro SD cards full to the brim.
