I made a withdrawal this week from my i-poker client and I got an e-mail confirming withdrawl via neteller and in the mail it askes me to consider a Moneybookers account as i's cost less for me and for the site and is quicker.... according to the site...

I always thought it was dearer..... I was charged 1.9% on my withdrawl via neteller.... how does this compare to Moneybookers and should I bother?

    Thanks,

    Mac

It never costs me anything to move money on or off poker sites using moneybookers.

There's a $0.50 charge when buying things from there though and a $2.70 charge for bank transfers.

Yeah Moneybookers are very good for fees, none for moving money around from site to site and they only charged me £1.86 for withdrawing £500 last week. and it only took 2 days to reach my bank account. I prefer it over Neteller big time, there fees are bloody wild sometimes.

But - moneybookers has a ridiculously low limit, absolutely useless for any serious players.

Moneybookers only charges me €1.80 for a bank transfer regardless of wheter i transfer 200 or 10,000, beware though when moving funds from $$$ poker accounts to moneybookers €€€ accounts because although they dont charge you any fee they do do a currency charge which amounted to $90 for a 1k or 2k transfer, cant remeber the amount as it was a while ago but it was somewhere in that region.

If you have your ipoker account set up in €€€ then its 100% free for the transfer from poker to moneybookers and instant btw at least on GJP, and just €1.80 no matter how much you transfer once its within the limits, heres my limit after i got my address/credit card and bank account verified

€20k Outgoing transaction limit (I presume this is monthly)
Credit Card Deposit Limit €3k (Also monthly) although theres no limit on the bank transfer and its completely free and instant if you have a laser card and want to do a transfer. Bank transfer is also free but it takes 2-5 days, lodging with a credit card is also instant but there is a 1.9% charge. Limits are alot less when you join until you get your address and bank registered etc but its very easy and quick to do.

I assume you can extend it on moneybookers like I was with neteller.
My limit for deposit was 1k on full tilt and I just asked and got it extended to 4k in about 30 minutes.
I don't think I have ever been charged more then $1 for transfering money out of neteller to my account and I've never been charged for moving it around from site to site afaik so I don't really see what is better about moneybookers

To Compare the 2 Netteller at 1.9% and Moneybookers at €1.80 flat fee

    €500 Netteller €10 Moneybooker €1.80
    €1000 Netteller €19 Moneybooker €1.80
    €2000 Netteller €38 Moneybooker €1.80
    €5000 Netteller €95 Moneybooker €1.80

Seems like a no brainer but maybe im missing something?

Most sites swallow that 1.9% with the bigger ones probably having a deal with neteller for a lower rate. I get charged $1 for withdrawals to my bank account, never charged for anything else and most site to neteller withdrawals are instant.

The Neteller 1.9% that you are quoting is only in the case of a currency exchange. The flat withdrawal fee is $1 for a dollar account and £0.50 for a sterling account. Not sure about Euro's, but it seems unlikely to be more than €1.50, going by the other two currencies.

Was going to set up a GJP account soon. From this it seems that I would be best to set up the account in €?

Amm 99% of the sites now accept Moneybookers as well as Neteller.

I fund GJP, Full Tilt, Poker Stars, PKR and a few other sites with it. The likes of Full Tilt are instant with withdrawals back to Moneybookers and Poker Stars & PKR aren't too shabby either. :)

yeah, the fee for neteller is only $1 for a transfer, the 1.9% is for the currency transactions, eg if u had your neteller account in euro you only pay €1 to withdraw.

i think moneybookers charge 1.7% or so for changing currency, they also offer a better exchange rate than neteller.

well according to my sig, moneybookers is better than neteller, fact

The limit starts at 1k, but as soon as you register details it increases automatically. your address, back, card all cause it to go up

it really depends. If you don't want to use any other poker sites then definitely set up your GJP account and your NT or MB account both in euro. If you will frequently be transferring money between GJP and poker sites that operate in dollars only, you are better off with $ for everything and only pay the fees when depositing and withdrawing.
