Just wondering did anyone ever test the difference in typing accuracy from when they are sober to when slightly drunk/very drunk etc, maybe you dont bother with typing tests but what im trying to get across is because as we get drunk or brain slows down and we have to think harder to do the same things we can do when were sober so is there a type of online test which shows a noticeable difference in our abilities/accuracy or in the example of typing would there much difference in WPM after 1,3,6 and 9 pints for example?

And no im not drunk, just hungover:D

I would imagine that, after 9 pints, you'd be pressing the keys with your face.

I've posted here and elsewhere after being in the pub. Reading back the nonsense I typed the day after I'd say that there's a strong likelihood that the drink played a part.

Everything is harder to spell after a few alright.

yes. just takes longer to type although frankly the quality of output remains the same...

Obviously speed is affected, but more typos and correcting to be done. accuracy is more a case of laziness, ie. 'sure fcuk it, they'll know what i mean.' All too often they haven't got a bull's notion what you mean!!

it has a profound effect on the type of contributions you make to boards.ie regardless of spelling.

My typing is faster and my contributions are better (read: half decent) when I'm drunk.
    Not too drunk though.

I remember typing some big thing once when I'd had about 10 cans, I was definitely typing faster and I was pretty sure that I was getting everything right. Most of it was the opposite of right in the morning though

So I think your typing would be fine if you just stayed drunk

    Ask Archimedes ;)

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

My typing is almost kanji-like when I'm drunk.

Posted drunk a few days ago and it took bloody ages but I think I managed to check for spelling, and to make sure it made sense. (I'm not going to go find the post though so this is just based on what I can remember of posting it!)

Indeed. The post made sense, and I punctuated correctly. The spelling was ok because I used spell check! I'm so proud! Actually, what I said about signing in was true. It was the hardest thing to do, worse than actually writing the post. That wasn't because I didn't realised they'd changed my name, because I'd seen that in an e-mail notification. It was just genuinely hard to type in my user name and password! I have no idea why.

    Thanks DEmeant0r! :D

Haha, yeah, passwords are very hard to type while drunk because you can't check what you've already typed. Took me ages to log onto a computer in college once cos of that

Well, Ive been kicked off internet banking for too many bad passwords while trying to top up credit when drunk (think they posted my info, have not bothered yet). And yid wanna see the sh1te i post in soccer while rubbered after any important Ireland or CL game (I have a leaning towards Liverpool, along with a hatred of Man U, meaning I will usually be steaming when giving opinions on all of the above)

Right now I am drinking, alone, waiting on the Ricky Hatton fight to come onto a Romanian tv channel I am streaming with alright but by no means perfect buffering.

Of course, if NTL werent so sh1t I might be watching decent coverage, ****ers never picked up the phone today. Mate said his cousin got through after 30 minutes and a sh1tload of credit  They never even picked up for me or any of the other lads who tried ordering. If the Romanian tv lads do an IP search they will find that half of Dublin managed to find their site tonight.
