    Hi

    Something I've always wanted to do is drive from Dublin/London to Australia overland. Has anyone here ever done something like this? Do you think it would be a very crazy/dangerous idea? There are two routes that could be taken;

    -- Through Europe, Russia, Khazakhzstan, Into Russia again, then into Mongolia, China, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and then Singapore.

    Through Southern Europe, into Turkey, then Iran, then Pakistan, then India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore.

    Am I mad ?

    I *think* I remember reading about a tour operator who do this, but with a bus full of people. Worth Googling!

    This has already been done by 3 lads driving an old (92-93 ish) BMW from Dublin to Sydney.

    Check out their website......

    http://www.dublintosydney.com/NewWebSite/menu.htm

    As you can see, they kept a good diary of their journey and they were given a brand new car by BMW for the exposure.
