    Hi All,

Bought the Medion 500gb external drive last week, hooked it up via USB and and was ok. Bought a eSata cable for it due to faster transfer rates but cant get this working, i have a eSata connector on back of pct and on the drive.

    #My board is Asus pn5 -e

Cant see anything on the net of how to enable it in BIOS or anything, i'm assuming it is enabled

i,d say you need to install a windows xp,sata driver for your mobo .I didnt install a driver cos my bios ,detected the sata hd immediatly,i just installed winxp, service pack 2 .you can download drivers from the mobo manufacturer website.or ask sum1 on boards.ie to email them to you.have you got service pack 2 install. i have my sata driver cd ,never used it though. There shoud be a sata controller showing up in control panel/ hardware/device manager.
