Bulky items on a plane

I'm not being entirely frivolous: they would fit in a golf bag, wouldn't they?

I don't think you would have a problem taking them but it is probably best to contact the airline just to make sure. You can often see assortments of large items being loaded on that would be much bigger than those.

They would probably have to go in as outsize baggage, not sure what extra charges there would be for it though. You would have to make sure they are well wrapped up, they won't accept items with sharp edges that could damage the plane or other baggage.

Wrap them up very well, book an extra bag with Aer Lingus and you should be all set. They'll have to go via outsize baggage but there shouldn't be any extra charges.

Though, just thinking about it, they might try charging you the sports equipment fee but I don't really see why - they may be slightly outsize but definitely not heavy.

Best bet it to give Aer Lingus a call.
