A weekly Boards tournament?

Hi, unfortunately I only had the chance to play in one event of the BCOOP on Stars and I ended up finishing 3rd behind Ian and Luckbox Lloyd, but loved every minute of it - the craic and the banter was brilliant and the competition was fierce.

But once a year is too little to be honest and I was wondering... what the chances would be of a weekly or even a bi-weekly Boards tournament on a day suiting the majority of everybody, which would probably be a Sunday IMO ...as most people traditionally play poker on a Sunday anyway.

...and hopefully run it on GJP (for talks sake) or a site the majority of us play on.

It wouldn't have to be anything extravagant, but something like a $25 or $30 freezeout to give everyone a fair crack at the whip, and if possible a half decent structure, that we could all enjoy.

I'm sure it would get the numbers if it ever got the go ahead and the support of Boards.

Anyway rant over, just thought it would a good idea as i'm in a creative mood.

Let me know what you all think...

    Sparky

Even the annual events start off well but then numbers start dropping off.

I believe that mike did run something like this weekly and it flopped after a while. I might be wrong though.

Well if that was the case I wasn't even aware of it, but with Boards growing in numbers all the time, i'm sure it would recieve far better support.

yeah we had one earlier in the year but after a few weeks we were struggling to get a single table....... Interest needs to be kept up... but I'm all on for it again if it goes ahead...

Last one was a 20 freezeout with a great structure but didn't get support required... GJP added money and everything and had a league running wtc.... I think it was twice weekly if I remember... I'd be all up for another try....

i'd be up for this if it happened.

I think once a week is too much though. Maybe have a 50-100e f/o once monthly with something thrown in instead. It would give people more time to get available for it and could have a decent prizepool with some numbers. If the entry is too steep for some people i'm sure some sats could be set up.

I'd be up for a monthly Tournie. But only if it gets committed people.

Kinda tired of the initial "I am well up for this" and then fuk off half way, even quater of the way, through brigade.

I'd go for a Sunday. SnG stylie with opening for seats at say 8pm and kicking off with Maximum required met.

That way people can be hassled to join in due to Sunday online Donkaments.... and if there is not the met minimum required... it don't go ahead.

tbh I only play these for the craic and to play fellow boardsters.

    So meh.

yea maybe an online tourney once a month, i.e 50(+5(reg) +10(league final)) FO or something, keeping a kind of leaderboard, and top 20 or so play in a live league final at christmas or end of year, which give say 25 players a month,11 months woud approx to 2750 prize pool in league final and maybe have a 100 entry fee for each player in live final - so total prize pool could be 5K.
or everyone who wants could play the live final.. = bigger prize pool..

    A cash table? Password protected?

Some cracking ideas there... I even like the idea of a Cash table password protected if it can be done?

A permament Boards cash table or even a couple, one for both type of players. Maybe $1/$2 NL Hold'em ...and $0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em. :)

    Cash table would be horrible.
All that happens is you just end up 4,5 betting too light and have a big variance fest cause you know that he knows etc

I think its much better to keep boards events rare and well populated
