Ebay email/Send Question restrictions?

    Hi,

Ive been interested in and purchasing a fair amount of stuff from Ebay in the lead up the Xmas.

Some sellers dont always outline that an item is in pwo and if its an electrical item Ill usually ask them to confirm this. Seems fair to me since Im the one paying for the item

Anyhow, last night i tried emailing through ebay - using the 'Ask seller a question' form - after typing the message and pressing send I was told

"The form is not available at this time. You have exceeded the maximum number of messages you can send."

Whats this all about? I havent read anything about restrictions or quotas on ebay and a search on Google yielded no results.

Some back information - as I have only recently started purchasing stuff - I still have a buyer rating of 0. I havent been purchasing and thus emailing lots and lots of stuff - Ive bought perhaps 5 items total - been outbid on 20 - and been interested in a further 30. Not sure if any of this is relevant...

Any pointers? Ive emailed ebay but not got a response....

The message daily limit is very low for users with 0 feedback, and increases the longer and more active you become. This is in place to prevent fraudulent activity. I don't know the exact limit on a "0" account but the limit is reset 24 hours after the message that caused the limit to be exceded.

Yes, spammers can sign up and litter people with mail which could be legit, or scams trying to pay in weird ways etc.

They are terrible for replies, you can wait weeks only to get a standard response, i.e. you might have a specific question and get a vague reply that is sent to 1000's
