Saliva squirts

Anyone else suffer from this oft times embarrassing issue?

At lunch today, open my mouth to eat some food and bam... little jet of saliva squirts across the table A bit of a wtf moment to say the least. This happens regularly to me as well. Anyone else with this problem, any solutions?

I don't think i've ever heard of this before. I'm actually amazed. Where do the wonders of the human body end??

If you can train yourself to do them at will then you can train yourself not to do them by accident.

However, if you want to stop this temporarily then all you need to do is make sure that your tongue is placed on the floor of your mouth when opening your mouth.

One of my kids used to do that when he was young. He was like a spitting cobra sometimes.... :eek: Not anymore tho.

A guy i went to school with could do this on demand. He used to soak the teachers' backs as they walked passed him. bit of a knacker tbh.

I thought I was the only one.. But actually what you have is a wonderful gift my friend. It used to happen to me when I yawned and I decided to learn how to master my hidden talent. A few months later and I was snake spitting at will. These days I do it to people at bus stops for cheap laughs, they don't know what hit em, also cats and dogs are good.

I've tried training myself to get a feel for what causes it but no luck yet. I suppose it's a bit like learning to whistle.

Good idea with the tongue, must remember that!

It happened to me once and I was a bit freaked out. I always wondered why it didn't happen again. It would be a fun, but gross skill to master.

happens when i'm yawning the odd times. My brother can do it at will and is soaking me the whole time. Bit of a knacker tbh too.

lol, same here. It used to happen all the time but has stopped of late. Hasn't happened in the last few years that I can remember

Happens to me sometimes... the anticipation of food does it I think. Try swallowing , or remembering to swallow, before you eat. This works when I can actually remember this happens!! I think it's age related in me too... old men drool...:p
