listening to the radio last night on beat 102103, and they said that gamestop have announced they will have another delivery of nintendo's wii's across the south of the country.

they said they are hoping to meet all order's so far.

so i rang my local gametop, and they said they cant give an exact date as to when they will be in, but they will have them this week.

    anyone else hear the ad?

Mentioned in another Wii post somewhere.
Just hope they don't go down the "Bundle" route as well.

BBC reporting that "Nintendo are likely to pull TV adverts because they cannot meet demand" .

hope it really backfires on them, they created this supply/demand issue purposly imo.

How? The only issue they were complicit in was having a marketing campaign that worked far better than they intended. Remember that Sony were unable to demand for PS2s when they originally came out- same story.

Apparently Europe is getting production that would normally be expected to be consigned to the States (and the UK and Ireland) as Nintendo has development and localisation offices in France and Spain and are trying to keep what they consider relatively local offices satisfied. That said- I am personally aware of one Irish retailer who is trying to get 500 units on the wholesale market in France shipped over here.

Its just the classic law of supply and demand really.

Nintendo's real problem (if selling every item of finished stock is a problem) is that they outsource all their components from different manufacturers. It may be that they have millions of units finished but are waiting for just one "widget" to complete. Gamestation do seem to have stock but finished to their idea of a good bundle. One bundle from Dixons includes a spanish language DVD and just how many Spiderman DVDs do you need (The Wii doesn't even play DVD Movies)

I waited outside Gamestop Tullamore from 8am in the pissing rain along with two other people as the shop said some due this morning.

No consoles left empty handed he said delivery due anytime before 2pm today.:(

Very frustrating and i wonder are these deliviries fictional

    Actualy fair play Gamestop!

I called them on the phone at 10.30am and they told me a que had formed and to get back in and join the que.

At 1130am a delivery driver fought his way up the shop isle and he delivered 3 small trollies or Nintendo ~Wiis and DS Lites,

    I got a Wii:D

By the way my sister was in Virgin Liffey Valley at 4pm and they were handing out tickets to anyone interested in getting a Wii.

They had just received a delivery of 50 Wii consoles.

    How much were they?

Are the charging RRP for them? Some places are taking advantage of the shortage and charging €400+ for them. You could buy a real console (Xbox360/PS3) for that money:D

Gamestop in Charelestown were supposed to be getting a delivery of them on Friday. Told me to ring at noon, so I did, and the delivery had come in on the Thursday and they were all gone! Going crazy, my lil bro wants one... so just have to wait and see..
