I had a job interview 2weeks ago. It went ok - Definitely not a disaster anyway!
I emailed the HR person a week after the interview to see if they had made a decision yet. I was told that they had not made a decision and they would be in touch as soon as possible.
Now its been two weeks since the interview and I'm getting impatient. I presume i didn't get the job, but I'd still like to hear back from them. I went to the trouble of booking time off work etc. The least they can do is let me know. It doesn't take 5 minutes to print off a PFO and stick it in the post.

Should I email the HR person again? What should I say this time?

I've been in a situation where a company had to wait for a particular manager to return from abroad to sign off on my recruitment. The delay between the interviewers selecting me and the manager making a decision based on their recommendation was about two weeks. I got the job.

Another potential situation is one where you may be second choice but there has been some delay or problem in the contract negotiation with the first choice candidate and they might not come to an agreement. It would be polite to receive a courtesy call but a lot of employers are weak when it comes to these.

If I were you I'd give them a polite call or e-mail on Monday to see what the status is.

yea i guess i'll send another email on Monday. Its just very annoying being ignored or left in the dark. The same goes for job applications. I'm sick of applying for jobs and never hearing back about them. I mean a quick email saying you're not suitably qualified/experienced wouldn't hurt.

Any jobs i've been offered in the past haven't taken this long, so it seems strange to me. After 2 weeks i would think they're not interested.
    I'm probably just too impatient!!

    I think leroybrown is right.

It is possible that you are being considered as they haven't rejected your application yet.
But it's quite likely that they have another candidate and they can't make a decision on you on until the other candidate confirms if they will take the job.
But HR will never, ever tell you this so this could be why you got no feedback yet.

And maybe you were accepted for the job but the budget might get reviewed and they can't make a decision yet

Give a call tomorrow and another later in the week, I wouldn't assume you failed to get the job yet
