Buying goods at an Auction or on an Auction website eg E-bay it is not covered by consumer legislation and may become a legal issue if you have a problem with the goods that you purchase.

    Is that a statement?

Where are you getting this from? Can you give us weblinks to the Irish Consumer Legislation which covers this.

You would be covered for sure but to a more limited extent.

But the item has to be as stated in the terms and conditions of the sale which is always or should be, stated in the auction details
