    Hello,
I've just bought a Macbook (Mac OS X, version 10.5) and have been having problems trying to connect to my broadband. I'd previously used a PC and had to install drivers so use the router (AOLYNK DR814).
When i connect it through the USB port, it doesn't even seen to be recognised
Airport is installed and is on
I'm new to Mac and not sure what to do, any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Hey, Sidd. Welcome to mac community. :)

Are you with Smart? I've got the same router.

So you have your macbook connected to the Aolynk via USB? That's less than ideal. I'm not sure if it'll even work with a mac. Have you tried connecting via an Ethernet cable? You shouldn't have any problems this way.

    Thanks Professor, yes with Smart.

Have just tried it with an Ethernet cable and it worked a treat!

    Many thanks, appreciate the help.

Btw since you're physically connected to the router you can turn off Airport in the menu. It's just for wireless and it's a waste of battery leaving it on.

I don't want to be a Mod or anything, but thought that I'd mention that I use Smart and an Aolynk DR814 with some AEBS's and a few Macs, just in case anyone has any queries :D
