Hi guys, since we had a power cut on Saturday night, my Sky+ box will not turn on.

When i plug it in ,i get a ticking noise from the back of it.

Tried all the usual plug it in,plug it out and so on.

Its a Pace box, model TDS470N.

We had Lightning that night also.

Hmm, doesn't sound good. I was going to suggest doing a forced software download, but as the unit is stuck in standby, it might not download anything either and do more harm than good.

But, I suggest you try the Format method explained here:
    http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellite/archive/t-9791.html

Note that any recordings will be lost doing this procedure (not that you can watch them as it is).

Thanks for that, but it did not work.

I have no lights on the front of the box, which leads me to believe that the power supply could be blown.

No lights at all? Oh, sorry, I had presumed it was stuck in standby.

Yeah, I'd say there is a fault within the power supply. Hopefully nothing else is damaged like the HDD.
