    good stuff!
I really like the first one, i think its a lovely shot.
Im not so keen on the second one but thats just a personal tasthing, i couldnt really tell you wnything wrong as such with the shot.... the wires just make it a little too busy for my liking.

I dunno the first one seems to be on a very sunny hot day. I'd go with a more weathered sepia tone personally or something similar to try and get that feeling across. Maybe its just me!

boosting the contrast in both of them would do alot for them I think. Use your levels or curves to boost them a wee bit and see how they look.

i find the first a little dark - i presume it was a deep blue sky in the original (?) - this may also be just my monitor but it comes across as a non flattering grey.

2nd one i actually quite like - cables n all! That angle can be troublesome but you've managed it fine. A little more crop below would get rid of the car roof that is still visible or a different shot would have allowed pavement to sky including cars etc.., Also there is a marked difference in the sky so perhaps compare the two originals to see what works best for you.

    Thanks for the comments everyone!
I'm glad the feedbacks not that negative as these are really just my first real attempts at b&w conversion.

Eirebear: Thanks for the comments, I had a feeling people would either love/hate the cable and the angle it was at but as you said it's personal taste :)

5uspect: Yup your right, extremely hot and sunny day. Also it was taken at a bad time of day 2/3pm. Personally I'm not too fond of the sepia look but that's just me.

pete4130: Thanks Pete, I might give them another go and post them up here.

AnCatDubh: Cheers for your opinion! Regarding the van in the 2nd shot - would you believe I was probably there for 2/3mins hitting undo/redo with the van cropped out. I'm still unsure which one I prefer.

    Thanks again!

It's really personal preference I think. I was thinking of the whole western look I think.

I really like both of those shots.
B&W is great, but they'd probably look good in any number of tweaks - the subjects are framed so well.

    Nice one!
