Some promising ties for consideration. None worth a jot on thier own as straight wins but chain them together....all home wins (bar one) btw.

    Chelsea - Sunderland
    Everton -Fulham
    Man Utd - Derby
Reading - Liverpool (okay this is the sole away gig and depends entirely on the starting 11 - Torres/Gerrard starts and its a win)

    Leeds - Huddersfield
    Leyton Orient -Cheltenham

    Hereford - Lincoln City
    MK Dons - Accrington Stanley

    Aldershot v Stafford Rangers
    Torquay v Altrincham

I'll let you look at the tables and think about what combos to try out :)

    Mike.

For the prem accum a €10 will net you €31.69. So its just over 2/1.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭IrishMike

    United are 1-10.
No real point including them tbh.
Payout is €30 including them, €28 if you dont.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,500 ✭✭✭✭cson

Still, not a rat arse chance in hell they'll lose at home to Derby. Might as well bang them in anyways.

Yeah i agree i think theres money to be made this weekend so heres my selections....
    Chelsea 1/6

    MK Dons 8/15
    Celtic 1/8
    East fife 4/9
    Everton 4/7

I think we should nominate someone to pick a list of games each week, like mike65 has done above and we all have to make an accumulator from that list.
Then the first poster to win gets to pick the list of games.
    maximum bet 4 euro.
    what ye think?

I like that idea, I guess the 'winner' is whoever gets closest to a win if no bet comes in.

    Mike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 274 ✭✭mox54

Dotsflan, is your fun accum all to win or how have you done it, I may give that a go for the craic.

mike65, maybe we could do it in a new thread (dated) each week and limited to 5 or 6 english games. I nominate yourself to kickstart it with some of the above games.

Yeah its all to win. Just picked them going on recent form. thought the price was a bit big but thats what it worked out at on the PP calculator:D:D Happy days if it comes in will cover me for the christmas feast of racing (fingers crossed)

that's a great idea, had a crack at doing this a few weeks ago and had 6 results out of 7 and could have done very well for 10 yo-yo's, I'm in if this goes ahead!!

macshadow, I'll start with this thread as its the one for this weekend

6 Teams from any division including the Blue Square Premier Table (Conference)

    Chelsea
    Man Utd
    Everton
    Hereford
    MK Dons
Celtic (-1) (missed Leeds being an early KO)

    5 on 35 back.

Should all bets be for a straight win? or are variations allowed?

    Mike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,500 ✭✭✭✭cson

I kinda made a half arsed effort at a thread, but I think maybe a comp amongst ourselves with everyone starting at say €20 and seeing how much they can get it up to. Who'll be boards top tipster? :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 485 ✭✭macshadow

Mike, I think variations allowed because the odds on straight win on some games are a bit short. Right here we go;)
    Chelsea-under 2.5
    Man utd-over 2.5
    Everton-win
    Leeds-win
    Hereford-win
    Mk Dons-draw
    4 euro pays 153

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 485 ✭✭macshadow

It sounds a good idea cson but might be tricky keeping track of the odds and results for each poster.

Thats why I think we should keep it to Prem and Champs League Matches to start with, keep it to a max of 5/6 folds, start everyone on €20, and just see how it goes.

I like this idea guys. To be honest I think the premiership market top 3 and Champions leage and UEFA Cup is where the punter can make money.

My strategy is to keep to a maximum of 3 fold bets.

I like Chelsea under 2.5 Goals.

    Eveton.

    50 EUR win on Double.

My maxim. Is to win not give away money. Well try not to anyway.

Why are we not just putting all this into your accumulator thread cson?
    Seems strange

Anyway speaking of the weekend just want to point out a game that not everyone would normally be betting on.

    Southend v Swindon

A decent bet on a home win. Swindon have no manager, no chairman, a take
over just collapsed and are basically in turmoil off the field. Add to that 3 key
suspensions, and 2 key injuries and the fact they had a trip all the way to
Carlisle mid week (which they lost 3-0) means the team isn't in the best shape either.
The captain has just admited he fears the club will get dragged into a relegation
    battle...even though they are 14th!!!!!
They also have 1 away win all season
Southend are up to 6th and only leeds and swansea have more home wins this season
They are priced @ 4/5 and are too good to pass up IMHO!

-- Just saw on another forum Swindon expected to field up to 3 youth team players.

Had Swindon in a double with Everton.
They waited until the 90 minute to win after coming from 1-0 down.
    Delighted :)

Had a good look at that game myself.
    Ever use betstudy.com Mike?
Outstanding site, does head to head stats of every game in every league in Europe.
Should be able to find yourself a replacement after having a look on it for a few mins.
It has made me a fortune recently!
Just make sure you look at the last 8 games rather than the percentages which are
from the last 20 games (obviously includes last season which is no use really)

O lympiacos is censored because of the on-going legal issues. The first seven letters are the name of a venue.

Me im going for Villarreal v Betis
Villarreal are on fire 5-1-1 at home. Betis have no away win all season and even
lost away to Levante the bottom team in the league in their last away game.
The 3rd worst defense in the league against the 3rd best attack.
Betis just fired their manager and are without Odonkor one of their best players.
Villarreal had a good win in Europe midweek and should be far too strong for Betis.
    Home win @ 8/15

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

I'm doing Leverkusen and Villarreal (as singles)

Bah IrishMike you're crap! :D Villarreal loose at least Leverkusen came in, only 60 down!

    Please dont talk to me!
lost €200 on that game (again)
Good chunk of yesterdays winnings down the drain!
Look at the stats and the form and the fact that they have no manager.
Where the hell do these results keep coming from!
Arsenal getting beat by a rubbish boro team is yet another example

Will make it back on deportivo win/draw against barca
also backed under 3.5 goals @ evens

Makes some of the weekends losses back :(
    Still well down though.
