NTL/UPC question

We have just moved into a new house and NTL is in the area. I have ordered NTL broadband only for the moment.
We are still waiting to hear back from the landlord if we can put up a sky dish. The landlord is travelling at the moment and can't be contacted. If they say no we will just add NTL digital.
We are happy enough to wait for the channels.
Am I right in assuming when they reconnect the NTL line we will be able to get the standard analogue channels for the time being without the digital subscription?
Should I be able to get the analogue channels without the digibox?
Would there much work involved to get the installer back in to hook up the digital tv?
I'm only going on what people have told me about the service so I may be way off here!

if you can't get the permission to get a sky dish installed from your landlord why would you opt for the upc basic service and not the digital service straight off??

just wondering because you are only gonna get the basic 18 or so channels with the basic service!!

Analogue will be coming down the same cable no digibox needed. If you did go for DTV its very straight forward they just connect the box up to the existing cable point it a five minute job.

If you read what I posted I said that we can't contact the landlord for the next few weeks or so.
We need internet ASAP but we don't want to get stuck paying for the digital service when we can get SKY.

The analogue channels would be ok for the moment.
We can't tune in any anlogue channels at the minute through the ntl box on the wall would I be right in saying that its physically disconnected and we will be able to get them when they hook the net up?
