While I'm sure our luscious yet unbiased mod will love to see me here, I just have a quick question about the Touch.

I hope the change to get an 8GB model for about €220... can anyone give me some personal experiences with it? It'll be my 2nd iPod, first was a 3rd Gen...

there's about 4 threads on this over on the Portable Medai Players thread.

My opinion is it's the best device i've both in a long time and well worth every penny.

Worth every penny !! There are some flies in the ointment though if you want to be really picky. The absence of Bluetooth in the production models was mad. This could easily have made it the best ever. Imagine being able to use wireless headphones - even my Nokia N73 phone has this feature and I love it. But for some reason they pulled it on the iPod Touch.

Secondly is the storage size. I bought the 8GB purely for financial reasons (I wanted one so badly but I was broke :( ) and soon discovered it simply isn't enough, even the 16GB version would be too little. The popularity of Flash based players has meant falling prices for Flash RAM so I'm guessing the 8 GB models will be discontinued soon with a new 32GB model making an appearance and the prices switching around.

But for ease of use there's no beating it. The touch screen is simply a work of genius and the vulcan pinch idea is magic.

Was in the gym today on a bike keeping an eye on the football scores on the 'net while listening to some tunes (and sweating profusely . . ), several people came over to enquire about it and were amazed at how easy it was to use. It's here though that the wireless headphones would be useful.

Apple scored a winner with the original iPod 5GB, (still have mine too) the Touch has raised the bar on that achievement no mistake. Now, just give us BT and I'll be over the moon !

The iPhone had Bluetooth and still doesn't work with wireless headphones. You need to get an adapter for it, which may work on the iPod Touch. Jabra something or other. Can't recall the model number.
